Think Vault Guide
Import & Export
Bulk import users and passwords with CSV templates, or export your data.
Prerequisites
You must be a Site Deluxe Administrator to import or export data.
Importing Users or Passwords
- Log in to the Think Vault web portal.
- Click Settings → Import / Export.
- Click Import Templates — Download to get the CSV templates.
- Extract the .zip file and open the CSV for either passwords or users.
- Fill out the template and save it.
Tips for the Password Template
- Leave the Passportal ID column blank.
- The Description column is the name you will see in Think Vault. Make it clear and specific.
- The Folder column determines where the password is stored. If you leave it blank, the password goes to the root directory and is visible to all users.
Tips for the User Template
- Leave the Passportal ID column blank.
- Last Name, First Name, and Email are required. Phone is optional but recommended for password resets.
- Each imported user will receive an email invitation to sign up.
- After import, you will need to manually assign users to Security Groups or promote them to Site Deluxe Administrator.
Completing the Import
- Back in Think Vault, drag and drop your saved CSV onto the Import area.
- Click Import to finish.
Exporting Users or Passwords
- Log in to the Think Vault web portal.
- Click Settings → Import / Export.
- Scroll to the Export Passwords section.
- Under Type, choose:
- Users for user lists
- Company Vault for shared company passwords
- My Vault for your personal passwords
- Choose whether to include disabled items and headers.
- Click Export.
A CSV file will download with your requested data.
